e-Visa Requirements for Swiss Nationals

India requires Swiss visitors to get a visa before entering the country. Electronic visas were launched in India in 2014, allowing citizens of 166 countries, including Switzerland, to apply online for a tourist, medical, or business eVisa.

Swiss nationals may apply for an India visa online in around 15 minutes from anywhere worldwide, provided they have an internet connection.

Which Visa Am I Required to Have to Visit India from Switzerland?

Swiss citizens can apply for an electronic tourist visa, a business visa, or a medical visa, depending on the reason for their travel.

There are two categories of Indian tourist visas for Swiss citizens. The 30-day e-Tourist visa is valid for one month and permits Swiss citizens to enter India twice. The maximum stay allowed is thirty days in a row.

The Swiss e-Tourist visa for India is valid for one year from the date of issuance. It permits numerous entries over 365 days, with stays of up to 90 consecutive days from the date of entry.

The India business visa for Swiss nationals is valid for a single year. However, the length of stay permitted in India on a business visa is extended. With an e-Business visa, Swiss nationals can stay in India for up to 180 days. This might be 180 consecutive days or 180 days throughout numerous trips.

The Indian medical visa for Swiss nationals allows for three entries. The initial entry must be submitted within 30 days of issuance. The Medical e-Visa is after that valid for sixty days from the date of entry, with a maximum stay of sixty days in a row.
